Chacoal in traditional Japan. The circle cut face is for an eye, and the long side is for a mouse. Usually none is for a nose, cos Japanese noses are small. Recently, we do not see chacoal except Yakitori/Yakiniku restraunts. Kids seems to find & use other materials. The traditional Yukidaruma (Japanese snowman) went away from the streets.
