maninjapan 0
this may sound like a long shot, but was wondering if there any places in Honshu or Hokkaido that are open for boarding in Golden Week? Even if it's for a few days?

number9 0
Nozawa too. Then there's that mountain that closes between Dec-Mar because of too much snow, and reopens in the spring.

tsondaboy 0
Most of the big resorts in Nagano and Niigata and of course Hokkaido operate during the Golden Week. It is their last chance to get some $$$ before the end of the season, so most of them have the snowmaking machines working double shift to keep the place running till then. The funny thing is that on April 29 there might be more than 100 resorts open and on May 6 no more than 10!
