orinoco 0
Anyone ever try it? Is it worth it, I suppose it must be a 3-4 hour journey compared to 90 mins on the shink.
gamera 0
No, never tried there. But I guess you can enjoy scenery over the window instead of staring at dark window over the shinkansen while it's in a tunnel which is usually too long. Not so many services available around Yubiso tunnel between Minakami and Tsuchitaru, so need to check timetalbe there first if you really would like to try. Have fun!!!! Pint 0
I've done it a few times. Always on the way back though because it is just a hella long ride. gamera is right, from Minakami to Tokyo is no problem, its from Minakami that trains run once ever 75 mins or so. gamera 0
And you just need to be careful not to fall asleep when you need to change train at some stations. Perhaps Minakami and Takasaki are the ones. And if the train from Takasaki doesn't run through Ueno, maybe another change required at Kagohara or Kumagaya.
