minus 1
... has decided to start to ski. He's never been before but has decided he now wants to! I think that is so cool. I'm hopefully going to give him a few first lessons.

ncorrenti 0
Wrap him in bubblewrap first. Old bones are brittle!

bushpig 0
actually, on the same idea. Remember that Gortex jacket George had in Seinfeld? Made him look like the Michelin man. That would keep him protected from the cold and the pain!
mattlucas 0
Just don't let him into any sake stores
big-will 7
That is so great. Break him in gently!
alferg 0
good on him! so how fit is he? he should do some light weight training & cardio before he starts, so his muscles can protect his old bones from injury. broken bones at that age can cause all sorts of problems, & take a very long time to heal. IM 0
Good to hear people are still trying new things. You know Keizo Miura is 100, and still skiing.
echineko 1
He sounds like an interesting guy. It's good to hear like this thing. Did he think about board also?
Ocean11 0
echineko, he may not be too old to play skiing, but he's probably too old to play with echineko.

cam99 0
Good on him I would still like to be doing this when I am 75+ Get some professional lessons as well, they can be vital when you start. Nothing beats one on one learning. Don't let him get put off.
gamera 0
I hope I will still have that challenge mind when I turn 75. Yelling!
slow 0
We had 72years old guy in our group. He was a good skier and also Kendo master. But deep powder was too hard for him, he skied for a few hours and enjoyed onsen rest of the day. We worried about him not to have a good time with us. But he already decided to join slalom lesson with this group next time. Very nice and tough guy.
