Ryan1979b 0
Hey everyone, heading over to Nesiko and will need to hire a bord for a couple of days. Anyone have recommendations on the best and preferablly cheapes place for board hire....
nikei 0
The cheapest and best place would be next to the KFC snow hire shop. They cater for gaijin so if your feet are large you should be ok.

brumm 0
I've just rented a board thru Rhythm Sports for my trip this season, $220 for 5 days you can pay in $A or Yen, I think they've just opened in the mid village and have all the latest gear from what their website says. gogalago 0
19937yen for 5 DAYS????????????????????? Can't help but think of that as a waste of cash - you could get a cheap board for that and keep it for the rest of you life.
Fattwins 0
yeah but the auzzie weight limits are very strict so some people are inclined to rent.
gogalago 0
suppose thats true - was horrified on the way back from new zealand last year to have my board and gear included in my weight for the first time ever - ended up throwing away all my clothes in a big pissed off display... ...anyway guess I'm of to niseko then to open a shop and score large-scale oz dollars. brumm 0
Gogalago, just like in OZ you get what you pay for in Japan too...there is a different between normal and demo boards, the original post asked about cheap and also the best place, in my case I was talking about a 2006 demo board. The local store "GoodSports" is charging Y12600 for 5 days for a standard board and Fusion aren't doing snowboards at all from what I can see on their website. Let me know how you go with opening that ski shop in Niseko..
SydFunnelWeb 0
I found that if you get to the airport and check in early they tend to overlook the weight thing. Also some airlines have sporting goods free. You just have to shop around.
nikeii 0
You can buy last season boards in Tokyo for not such famous names for around 10,000-20,000yen. The best place is Ochanomizu in Tokyo. If you are going for only 5 days or so you won't be carrying much.
