damian 0
I'm guessing that the side slip picture is twisted and so exaggerates the slope angle. Look at the cliff disappearing off the left hand edge of the picture frame. If the whole cliff does that then it one huge over-hanging face. >we know snow dot com They have vid and pics all over the place and certainly get out there enough to make me bloody envious. But their site is full of advertising and so... prolific pics are self promotional for generating income. It diminished the stoke a little. On the flip side, you gotta to pay the band if you wanna dance, and ad revenue is one way to gather dancing chips.
SerreChe 2
I agree, both pic's angles are way exagerated by camera tilting, (you can see 2 guys standing lower down in the 1st pic, and the tracks up the couloir do not have enough angle) but still great tracks so early in the season. damian 0
Haha, didn’t see the guys in the first pic. I wonder how they can stand like that and not fall over.

SerreChe 2
We should have a camera tilting section in this year's SJ photo contest, even the big N would look steep.
damian 0
I'm going skiing in Zermatt this weekend.

SnowJapan Moderator SnowJapan.Com#4 5 Posted October 23, 2006 SnowJapan Moderator Share Posted October 23, 2006 I wish I was going skiing in Zermatt next week. Have a good time. SJ Photo Contest info coming (hopefully) next week.
damian 0
....and I'd like to have real yakiniku this weekend. Zermatt is looking increasingly unlikely due to the poor conditions. I might go exploring in Austria, seems things are better there.
SerreChe 2
Exploring Austria can't be that bad.
damian 0
True. It would be good to see some of Austria. I just know Switzerland relatively well and so it minimises the hassles of what is already a speculative trip that could yield only a little good white stuff. Driving across the Alps and various European countries without a navigator in the car can be a drag so when going solo I like to go somewhere I already know. And I know the western Germany to Milan and Milan - Geneva routes reasonably well, along with several valleys and passes along the way.
grungy-gonads 54
But I bet you miss London really.
damian 0
Yes, I have nothing left in life to criticise, all is well. So I have reverted to Aussie Bashing to fill the void. Plenty of rain in the Alps this week, but no snow. I think I will defer my trip.
SerreChe 2
Spud, do not despair, my folks told me it is snowing quite a lot higher up in the alps at the moment.
bushpig 0
This season is taking way too long to get here, and unfortunately I'll be hearing about it from all you guys a good month or so before I get anything useful down here...
damian 0
Its cold here, and wet. The Alps must be getting a little bit. Bushy - you are a fool who can only blame himself. Even Yuki's Passion moved north.
bushpig 0
mate, I'm not gonna get into this with you again! I have my reasons and have made my choices for now. I get enough (barely) snow to keep me mostly happy down this way, but it just comes a bit later.
