Skiing or snowboarding? Like with equipment and stuff.

No flames please smile.gif, I have never been and so don't know much at all about it but am interested in taking it up in the coming winter. Looks like real fun.

ski equipment is way more expensive - period

i would say shopping for a comparable skill

level, you will pay an additional 50% for

the ski gear - skis, bindings, and boots.

I spend just about the same amount of money on either ski or SB. Of courese there are 160,000 en Gentem Stick to 30,000 including everything and on the ski side, 120,000 Volant TI to 30,000 with everything, too. I think it all depends on what kind of equipment you want to spend your money on.

There may be two planks in skiing, but there's way less surface area, so less materials?

Economies of scale dictate that the more popular a sport, the cheaper stuff becomes. Maybe the average skier is richer, so replaces gear more often, creating a larger retail market, driving prices down.

Less materials, but more work involved in making 2 rather than 1.

Average skier richer? Hmmm. Not with the younger generation, maybe. I can see that with the older gang though.
