You sound like a hippy g-g.

Snowboarding.

You can become reasonably proficient at snowboarding in 2 or 3 sessions, and if you take to it, you can ride powder soon. Is that really possible with skiing? Skiiers, what do you say?

the new generation shape-skiis have significantly lowered the learning curve for skiing...

they have really nice soft skiis with big sid-cuts specifically designed for beginners...you could also probably be carving some nice turns in a few days as well, but wouldn't go so far as saying you could jump into a powder field and navigate it succesfully...

but I say go for skiing anyways...its the future dude...

Thanks for that ... equivocation, danz.

Actually, I saw some interesting looking skis in Alpen they other day - really wide at the tips, and the Atomics had groovy muscular looking cylinders running down the sides.

You can't really jump straight into powder on a board either (don't try it at Nozawa or Wada Toge! mad.gif ) but you can probably be having your floaty fun earlier than with skis.

But, whatever.
