griller 9
....any to recommend? Post 'em here: (No Wada Toge, Ocean11 - I've had it with them)
Ocean11 0
Kirigamine where the Turdle taught me to board is a beaut. Great views of Fujisan. Limited vertical. Not much snow.
danz 0
Aizu Kogen Takatue in Fukusima (or is it tochigi...) anyway, suprisingly good terrain...snow was great when I was there...and the highlight is a cut trail that they stopped maintaining...so with a 10min hike you can skii freshies all day...no trees... danz

echineko 1
Please don't laugh. Some of my not-major places I like for reasons; Norn Minakami in Gunma Marunuma in Gunma Kandatsu koge in Niigata Sun Alpina in Nagano Togari Onsen in nagano
grungy-gonads 54
I've been to Takatsue too, wasn't bad. For skiers who like moguls, Hakkai-san in Niigata is the place to go (if you have a lot of energy to spare).
Karnidge 2
Some of the resorts down south of Kyoto - more than many people think.

scouser 4
echineko, whats with Norn Minakami?
Ocean11 0
echineko, isn't Togari across the valley from Nozawa? Sometimes when I'm finishing up at Nozawa, I look across the valley and see the lights come on for the nighter at Togari and think 'Hmmm, I feel just about ready for a nighter now'. Why do you like Togari?
echineko 1
Togari is smaller than Nozawa but never busy at all and quite nice runs. So sometime I have been there and enjoyed. Also at Kijimadaira resort nearby
big-will 7
We went there once, it was ok, fairly small place. Not somewhere that I really want to go back to tho
Davo 1
Temple Basin in Canterbury NZ. You have to walk up to the field for an hour or so-there is a goods lift. About 4 rope tows which access endless offpiste-actually it's all offpiste. Have never been there as a boarder, only as a hopeless skiier many years ago and could only access the learners slopes. Would love to go back and spend a week there sometime.
scouser 4
That's a little too far for me...
IceEiji 0
Togari is ok but nothing special. Nozawa is much the better choice.
seiko 0
Kandatsu Kogen is fun, but quite popular. I like Houdaigi in Gunma, and sometimes kawaba. It's a nice area.
oo 1
Houdaigi has nice snow. All courses open to boarders as well this season.
MalcolmB 0
Yanaba. Hakuba Highland.

Axeskier 0
I have to weigh in for Hakkoda. Definitely off the beaten track. Not for wimps. This is a mountain that will tear you up and spit you out or take you for the ride of your life. The best part is that on most days you can find yourself all alone carving fresh tracks through deep new snow. Out of the way, but well worth the trip!
Halo 0
Up in Yamagata/Miyagi theres some decent places that arent as well known as the mighty Zao. Eboshi, Liza World, etc All get good snow.
oo 1
Anyone here been to Sugadaira? My Japanese buddy was talking about it last night, said it was ok for a change.
nori-chan 0
A nice place is Kijimadaira and also Kita Shiga. It's near the Shiga Kogen famous place and not far from Nagano-shi
