I noticed that Cal mentioned that 100cm dumps over 24hrs wasn't that uncommon, and looking at the maps it seems that a big one is on the way, for some areas.

I am going to Niseko mid Jan.does anyone have any stories of big dumps that they want to share.I am sweating just thinking of that much powder.....

Yes, yes, I do like those big dumps.

Actually prefer hearing about them rather than being in the middle of them.

Places like Hakuba, Shiga, Yuzawa do have crazy periods of snow at times, and I have seen amazing amounts of snow in 1 and 2 day periods over the last few years.

Let it dump!

I had a good dump last night - drank a skinful of Samuel Smiths, smoked a stogey, then sat on the bog for nearly 30 mins. Great stuff - there'd be plenty of red on the central areas of my toilet bowl if it had a precipitation map available.

Looks like you have your "big dump" at the moment Cal. Seems to be dumping all over the Japan Sea side of the country. Happy?!

Yes, I am glad to see the big dumps at last. I will be going out there from tomorrow for 3 days - Hakuba and Shiga - so looking forward to riding the dumps!

Mine's coming in the next 10 min's if the taste of that Stealbucks espresso is anything to go by.
