Guest
I'm coming to Japan this weekend, & am hauling my gear w/ me, because I'm spending 2 weeks there (here?) on business, & plan on getting some skiing in. Based on what I've read (mostly on this site), I'm going to head out to Nozawa (-Onsen) the weekend of the 8th. WHAT'S UP W/ THE TRAIL MAPS? I checked out everything I could find in the Nagano area, & every trail map shows a mountain w/ 5 or 6 trails. My backyard has 5 or 6 trails. Mountains around here (and everywhere else I've skiied) have double- or triple-digit # of trails. Do they only have wide expressways down the mountain? I checked out a webcam of Happo-One recently, & it looked like an anthill. I hope I'm not just bustin' my nuts to go swooshing down a bunch of scaled-up greens. I'd love to try Hokkaido, but probably won't have the time. Any (useful & helpful) insight would be appreciated by this visitor w/ too little time. P.s. Does anything fun happen in Nozawa @ night, or does everyone just sit around in warm water?
IM 0
You might want to try this page: http://shinshu.online.co.jp/nozawa/ Nozawa has been developed around Onsen which has been in existance for 300 years. So there aren't any western style night life there, that I know of. People just go as a group and party in there rooms.
