Don't know about Oz but the Burton bindings I bought in NZ in August are the same price if not cheaper here in Japan. I also asked a guy at the shop what my board was worth there and he gave me an estimate that was also about the same, though I did get it on sale. There are plenty of good deals to be had here, you've just got to shop around.

Yeah you can get some good deals - especially starting this week (it becoming February an' all). Many of the places sell a lot in Feb as that's when they start their discounting frenzy.

Let's discounting.

i think in japan is snowboard gear more expensiv than in europe.

the problem is just, that you spend the money you saved for the overweight charges from the air company.

Sarge,

It depends on what you want. Anything with Burton written on it, probably has the same (over)price(d) tag it does in Oz.

Things that will date, go for a bargain.

Unpopular things, old models go for a song.

A friend of mine picked up a 97 Burton Asym Air + 98 K2 clickers + boots for Y38,000 last year in Kutchan. All brand new in plastic/box.

Better to shop for gear in Sapporo, the range is a bit limited in Niseko/Kutchan.

cheers.
