Guest
This is one of the "6 mountains", but haven't heard much about it at all. Anyone been here, any good? (I'm a skier) Thank U
Guest
Yeah I've been there once timmo. Had a good time. Very much a skiers hill - I don't think they even let boarders on there (?) - and some long long runs right from the top to bottom. Doesn't seem to get too much buzz does it, I was kinda wondering that. Maybe becoz of the boarder angle. Anyway, good for skiers, worth a visit.
cal 6
Agree with timmo here. Decent place for skiers. Avoid if you are a boarder. Cal
Guest
Not the most exciting of places, but lots of nice (?) smelly onsen in the town for you to enjoy
Blazer 0
I live near Kusatsu but have never been there, because I'm a boarder. I hear that it's good for skiers, but the lay out is pretty c#*p. Something about having to cross a big car park near the top?!? Also, not too long ago, 2 skiers died there when they skied through an area of poisonous gas. So don't go off piste, hey!!
gorilla 0
Got on the skis yesterday and went out to this place for the first time. Snow wasn't much cop, but the place was pretty decent. Full of skiers (:eek . Long runs. Not too busy. Not much else to say really. There you go. Out.
Guest
Never been, not a friendly place to snowboarders this one.
sai-jane 0
Been there, nothing special. Some good long runs and nice onsen at the bottom. Near Shiga Kogen, but not (ie cant get there in the winter, but just on the other side of the same mountains.)
snowy 0
Nice place. Good for skiers. And good in the evening if you like the smell of onsen and Japanese food.
Guest
Kusatsu Kokusai is a great skiers resort up on the Gunma/Nagano border. A no-go for snowboarders...
michael2 0
This is a good resort in Gunma (almost on the border with Nagano I think). Very much towards skiers, but a good ski resort. Nice onsen too. How to get there? Just follow the onsen "smell".
frannyo 2
Now the snow has gone, good place for onsen and that volcano crater behind the top of the mountain... can't remember the name (Shirane?)...then go over the top to Shiga Kogen when the snow really goes. Is that open yet anyone?
