klingon 10
That's what some of my J buddies tell me. Why?
Ocean11 0
I've heard that too.
silly-sausage 0
Isn't that because they were later than other resorts to open to boarders? Completely open to boarders now though, isn't it?
Davo 1
Great place to board but there are a lot more skiers about than boarders. It does take a while to work out some of it's better points.
scouser 4
I think the % of boarders there is on the up each year, like most places.
Fattwins 0
Happo is famous for a run called rabbit a steep mogul run that some people ride all day. If you dont get to the top early on a busy day and you dont like moguls than well your out of luck. Most of the upper entrance sections are too narrow to begin with so they get turning ruts, big ones and icy. Its a little easier if you ski. That said boarders and skiers make the ruts so even if the resort had more the problem would be the same. The problem at the top around the lifts is in the design. Hit it on a non busy day and you can rack up huge vertical. YOu can link top to bottom mostly steep runs with high speed lifts.

hide 0
Yes Happo still has more skier than snowboarder, but is good for snowboarer too.
Blizzzard 0
Seems like a good boarding hill to me.

orvil 0
So tell us what makes it "a ski hill"?
grungy-gonads 54
You can call it what you like, I'll still be riding down there.
lin 0
What do snowboarders think of Happo?
Will Lee 0
What`s all this hype about Happo-One? Why not try some other places in the region like Tsuga-Ike, Cortina or Goryu/47(much closer)? Their snow is just as good, isn`t it?
klubhead 0
what makes it a ski hill?? well, when you see millions of moguls all over the place combined with big sections often closed off for some ski teams to practise on, you can understand why i call it a ski hill
Fattwins 0
Moguls are made by everyone not just skiers. whether they are left to get ig is another thing. rider traffic down the mountain creates little mounds of snow that build into turning ruts or moguls. Ocean11 0
klubhead, that sounds a bit like Nozawa too. And that's essentially a skiers hill I reckon, although lots of boarders go too.
Gifoo 0
I hate moguls
