I'd Like to Carve in Japan. Where Should I Go?

I'm a middle aged, retired American.  I ride alpine snowboards in hardboots on groomed runs and that's pretty much all that I enjoy.  Just about all information on Japanese resorts is colored thru the lens of "powder" and "steep and deep."  I don't really care about these things and don't really want either of these qualities.  I'm interested in things like:

  • Good blue runs for carving that are ideally wide, straight, flat, long and of constant pitch.
  • Excellent grooming.
  • Reliable snowfall with a good proportion of nice weather days.
  • Snowmaking, at least a minimal amount to open some runs when the winter is poor.
  • Relatively uncrowded, at least on weekdays.
  • Popular with other carvers and racers so there is a community.  Local availability of hardboot gear is a plus.
  • Availability of reasonable (cheap) places to live nearby with public transportation to the lifts.  Some stores and restaurants.

Any ideas?  Thanks in advance.
