'Japanese' style snowboard carving lessons

Question

Hey guys,

First time poster here, and hoping to get pointed in the right direction.

I'm going to be in Hakuba in February and I would love to get some lessons on how to carve like the Japanese do.  I don't know if I'm completely off-base here, but through the last 2 years I've seen a number of YouTube videos of these snowboarders that have a very distinct carving style and they all seem to be Japanese.  I've done some googling, and even e-mailed some JSBA accredited schools to see if they offer classes for non-Japanese speakers, and either they're unsure of the availability of a suitable instructor or I haven't heard back from them at all.

Does anyone here have any experience booking lessons with one of the Japanese schools for lessons in English? Thanks in advanced for any help.

I don't know about the 'Japanese style' part of what you say, but I would imagine that if you contact Japanese schools and they don't respond then it means they can't cope with the request...

And I doubt more foreign based schools would offer 'Japanese style' lessons!

Not sure it will help electricbanana-san with his February trip to Hakuba!

;)

By the way Annabelle, how quiet is it up there currently?
