Sapporo Snow Festival - worth a visit?

Question

Next year we are going to Hokkaido to ski at Niseko and Rusutsu maybe also Kiroro.

We are planning on being there when the Sapporo Snow Festival will be on and wondering if it might be worth making room in our plan to take that in.

Anyone able to offer thoughts on that?

Thank you!

I definitely recommend it.

Haven't been for quite a few years, but we thought it was a great experience. And Sapporo the city on it's own is worth a look.

If you think you might be interested, I would say definitely yes.

And as you will probably be flying into Shin Chitose, it's pretty easy to plan it all out.

Good luck!

I would like to go there one day.

When I lived in Muikamachi, I often went over to the Tokamachi Snow Festival. It is on a much smaller scale of course but still some very impressive snow sculptures and enjoyed taking photos when weather was clear.

Sapporo is a fine city in itself, the snow festival fun too. I would definitely make room for it on a trip to one of the ski regions of Hokkaido. I recommend earlier than later (festival period)
