Question

Hi

Im planning of snowboarding in Myoko for 8 weeks next winter . 

How are the prices of snowboarding gear in Japan compared to the us ?

where do you recommend buying gear in Tokyo or Myoko ?

I'd recommend Tokyo over Myoko because there will be more choice and more competition and non-resort prices.

There are a few areas that have lots of ski shops.  Ochanomizu, Kanda (??), if I remember correctly. Perhaps someone can correct me.

Compared to other countries?  No idea, sorry.

Make sure you fly into Narita, not Haneda 'cos there are several second-hand shops in Chiba...  Worth checking out, so allow yourselves a few days. If you want brand new boards compare prices for Japanese boards and Overseas ones in the shops muikabochi has mentioned.
