Tomamu - sea of clouds

Question

While I love snowboarding, I also get excited by winter scenery and views. It's kind of an important part of it for me. I'm actually disappointed if it's just blizzarding all the time.

We are interested in going to Tomamu and I'd love to see the amazing sea of cloud like scenery that it is famous for.

Anyone any hints on timing (period/time) when there are good chances of enjoying that.

Thanks!

I may be wrong, but I thought that the 'sea of cloud' thing at Tomamu was more of a summer/autumn than winter thing.

Still really beautiful scenery from up there though in winter.

Thanks Hokkaidough. Yes that is what I have read elsewhere. Look forward to visiting next year.
