Shiga Kogen Yokoteyama: Snowboards allowed?

Question

Has anyone been there this season ('18-'19) know the answer?  Shigakogen-ski's lift info page shows ski-only, but friends and some other sites said that SB has been allowed in recent years.

We'll be staying in Yakebiteyama for only 3 days.  Since Yokoteyama is quite far from there, knowing this will really help me planning.  Thanks!

Hello Kaifu

I'll answer this one.

Snowboarders are allowed at Yokoteyama. To make sure this information is correct, I just called them and the person at the resort confirmed that.

I believe it was the 2015 season when they first opened up to snowboarders, partially at first.

But apparently now there are no such restrictions, even though generally there are more skiers there (80% skiers according to Yokoteyama)

Hope you enjoy it.

Kumanoyu also used to be skiers only but opened up for boarders.

As did Okushiga Kogen too.

You probably know this but you need to get a bus to reach Kumanoyu/Yokoteyama as they are not lift linked up to the rest of the Shiga Kogen ski areas.

Okushiga Kogen was skiers only until 3 seasons ago I think.

I think now that means that there are no skiers-only parts of Shiga Kogen. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone.
