Places to stay near White World Oze Iwakura

Recommended Posts

Looking for budget accommodation near White World Oze.

Looks like not much up there, other than the pricey resort hotel....

Has anyone stayed at or know of any cheap pensions nearby?

Haven't been there for a while but quite a few onsen ryokan in the village that are comfortable and -- at least 20 years ago weren't too pricey.

There should be some visitor info site for Katashina onsen online somewhere.

How close is the village to Oze White World? Katashina Onsen is the closest place?

The main centre Katashina village (where Route 120 cuts through) is about 10 minutes drive from White World, but the onsen village is just around the base area, a few minutes away.

I think.

Thanks for this thead. It's really useful. Planning for a ski vacation trip too soon, but still looking for a great place to hang out though.

I've stayed at Pension Currants, near Marunuma Kogen: http://www.snowjapan...ension-currants

It was nice.

Yeah, I saw that place and mailed them to ask about prices and stuff, but they didn't get back to me. How was the place Oyaji? Was it about 7000 yen per night?

It was a few years ago so I don't remember exactly. Their SJ page says 8,000 for adults, which seems about what I recall.

Cozy, very friendly owners. As I recall, they bake their own bread.

NECK, have they still not got back to you?

If you want email me and I'll contact them and check things.

I'm sure they'd be keen to hear from you.
