Useless, lumbering Marouane Fellaini has had his afro cut off, in an effort to escape recognition by Mr Giggs and Mr van Gaal.

Unfortunately, bean counters at United are worried that the only good thing about his signing - the few hundred pounds made on silly wigs sold - has now also disappeared.

Mascherano is an anus

Whatever happened to Barcelona's transfer embargo?! I suppose spending 60-70 million doesn't count as a transfer......how long until we find that FIFA do a U-turn and say that Suarez ban was excessive and sentence him to time served?!

Good news. Aston Villa reported to be interested in taking Ashley Young back from #ManUtd . They'd pay £7m. Grab it Utd. Great deal!

PLEASE, please, please let it be true!!

Getting rid of him and his inexplicably large wages is huge.

Seven quid is a great deal!

Manchester United have announced a 10-year contract with the German manufacturers Adidas to be the club’s new kit sponsor for a record-breaking minimum £750m.

The agreement commences at the start of the 2015-16 season and ends Nike’s 13-year relationship with United.

A club statement said: “Manchester United plc has reached a 10-year agreement with Adidas for a global technical sponsorship and dual-branded licensing deal for a minimum guarantee of £750 million, subject to certain adjustments, beginning with the 2015-2016 campaign. For the 2014-2015 season, Nike will continue in its role of technical sponsor and trademark licensee.”

As reported in the Guardian in January, the contract dwarfs the £30m a-year terms agreed by Arsenal with Puma in that month.

That, is a considerable amount of cash!

A quick shuftie suggests that's triple what Nike pay.

For all ManYoo's massive commercial income, they don't spend very much on the team. Most of it just disappears somewhere else.

Let's just make a note of that, just for when we get accused of spending too much!

they'll need to spend a fair bit this time.....a lot of deadwood to cut away and replace. 750 mill means that they can spend easy without worrying about the financial fair play farce rules that UEFA have brought in but don't really enforce

Wait, I'm confused. I thought the problem with ManYoo last season was that they had a shite manager who was out of his depth (while being a nice guy who cuddles kittens, of course). Why would Van Gaal need to spend so much cash and acquire so many new players when we all know last seasons debacle was all Moyes' fault?

Well, I for one have been going on about us needing a midfield for a few years.

Deadwood was present 2 years ago along with other problems.... and we WON the Premier League.

Yes, thank you very much Sir Fergie.

The combination of that less than perfect inherited (but still, remember, Premier League winning) team, plus the incompetence and sheer average-ness of way out of his league Moyes is what we ended up with last year.

Bloody hell, last season was so depressing.

Who exactly who is saying it was all Moyes' fault again?

I think epic form from RVP and Rooney (after that gash), and something mad like fifteen goals from Rafael, Evra, and Johnny Evans papered over the cracks in Fergie's last year. They were the first champions in years to concede more than a goal a game. Conceding too many goals is ultimately what cost Liverpool last year.

Man U have a higher income than Bayern and aren't far behind Barca, but not many of their players would get in either team.

It's hardly a massive shock that a handful of individuals provide a bulk of the goals for a team is it.

But whatever and whichever way you look at it, we won the League ahead of all the other teams. Even with a slightly crappy team.

Blackpool have cancelled their pre-season trip to Spain to concentrate on player recruitment having been left with only eight contracted professionals after 27 players left the club this summer.
