634-maru 4
Yes, that is a good strategy. Though, I think I need a bigger fridge.
Big Al 16
Hitachino Nest Weizen Project progress update: epic fail. Finished work and rushed over to Archive Beer Boutique and they didn't have any. They said to try another joint (Craft in Red Hill) and they didn't have any. Both shops said to come back in a week or so as they should be getting some in. Doh !!! Thanks for the advice Tubby....well MiJ? have you tried it?
2pints-mate 0
Did you get that beer yet, Bag?
BagOfCrisps 24
I was just thinking about that. I'm sure there are crates on the way from muikabochi and grungy-gonads. Perhaps more. They should arrive soon.
teikiatsulover 6
I've drank just under half a case of Kirin's Akiaji and it doesn't taste the same as last year at all. It's slightly hoppier don't you think? I'm sad to say this but I don't think it's nearly as good as last year
NoFakie 45
I've had six cans of Akiaji and it seemed like it's lost its aura as the most interesting regular price Japanese beer. I suspect it may not be as good this year, but I'm also sure the competition around it is getting better. fwiw, the Seiyu cheap Spitfire is now a goner, but they still do an a Shepherd Neame organic IPA at 290 yen for a 500ml bottle, so you get a decent British ale for standard Japanese lager price. The Spitfire was happo-shu price.
muikabochi 208
I have had about 4 akiaji so far, I can't say I am disappointed. If I hadn't have read the comment here, not sure id have noticed. Though I do very much like Kohaku, which is My Boom at the moment. Good job I have 2 cases of each.

grungy-gonads 54
I have had about 4 akiaji so far, I can't say I am disappointed. Can't admit to noticing much myself either. I suppose in this case ignorance is bliss!

7-11 2
Try some of the horrible happoshus and stuff. There's plenty of shit around if you want it. Most decent stuff is 4%+ though.
Curt 1
Happoshu isn't necessarily weak/light though is it?

634-maru 4
I have friends who only drink happoshu. They say it's because of the price. Don't get that. Real beer isn't that much more expensive is it?! I would rather not drink it than have happoshu.
Slippery Jim 65
I would rather not drink it than have happoshu. This!
Tubby Beaver 209
When I first came to Japan I drank it a lot....mainly cos it was cheaper but the taste is rats.....I'd rather pay a little more and enjoy it
