grungy-gonads 54
It's all very odd isn't it. Just read this, might be rubbish: According to the Washington Post, family of some of the 239 people on board the vanished Boeing 777 said that they were getting ring tones and could see them active online through a Chinese social networking service called QQ. onehunga 26
Not rubbish, but can be explained by the way that some telcos handle mobile calls. When you call a mobile there is a time gap between you pressing call, and the callee getting the call. The telco has to route your call, and that involves actually finding the mobile phone you are calling. During this "find" time different telcos do different things to indicate to you that something is actually happening with your call. Some play a ring tone. So it is entirely possible that some of the family members could call someone on the flight and get a ring tone. The online on QQ can be explained by the time out they enforce. If the pax was logged in to QQ though their mobile, it would depend on the time out enforced by QQ as to how long they would stay logged in without any activity. OR, it could be like that documentary LOST that was on TV a while back.

pie-eater 207
This is in the Daily Mail A series of new eyewitnesses have told authorities in Malaysia that they saw Flight MH370 up to an hour after it disappeared from civilian radar screens - and in places which back up the theory that it made a U-turn. so I advise the searchers to do the opposite of what is suggested above. Sadly more and more meaningless bollocks will be printed, simply for the clicks.
BagOfCrisps 24
India has confirmed that Malaysia has asked for its help as the search for the missing planes expands towards the west. Ministry of External Affairs spokesman Syed Akbaruddin said India had appointed an official to liaise with the Malaysian authorities, according to AP. “This is a new development,” Akbaruddin said, referring to the search extending to the Andaman Sea, north of the Strait of Malacca. “The two sides were working out what specifics they want, and what we can assist in.” At this rate, they'll soon be asking pie-eater's gran to go search off the coast of Blackpool. Tubby Beaver 209
That may well be a good idea, if she isn't too busy preparing to move into the Man U hot seat.....perhaps she can take a leaf out of Fergies game book and delegate a family member to coordinate the Blackpool search

onehunga 26
That's a very good question. Hijackers usually are after a specific objective, be it money, getting their mates released from prison or more recently using the plane as a bomb. None of these appear to have happened. Unless it turns up in one piece somewhere soon the logical assumption would be that the hijackers didn't plan well enough and the plane ran out of fuel over water.

r45 4
It is like some movie plot isn't it. If the dude hijacked it, seems very odd that he would just kept on flying the thing until it ran out of fuel.
