You know I was just thinking that last night, there were a few ads mentioning 'spring' on tv.

 

Perhaps the February national holiday we had is the cue for some campaigns to get started. I can see it being true.

Not massive is it? And not sustained.

 

The pressure chart doesn't show a fuyugata pattern but the precip charts look quite promising. If its coming up from the south, it doesn't have to be that cold for powdery goodness to come down from the heavens.

 

Anyway, my advice is to get out Sat/Sun if you can.

We've got about 50cm at our place so far. It's upside down snow, meaning there is denser snow on top of what was powder. I guess anyone heading out is already out, but in open trees, never mind open faces, watch out for it sliding. The risk will be way up there today, as will the temptation to hit something steep.
