It should be interesting getting to work tomorrow. Everyone who doesn't have snow tires goes up Kameishi and leave their cars there stranded while people who actually prepare for the snow can't get around them.....

Deeeeep day at Sapporo Kokosai. Easily mid thigh in places. Deepest day of the trip for sure.

It sounds like there's thick crust out there, at least in some places, so no surprise that Cortina's not rolling. There'll be some disappointed folks getting off the bus, no doubt. Some of them more angry than disappointed maybe.

Yes, getting all the way out there and reailising the lifts aren't running would be very annoying. Pays to check the Cortina homepage which posted the information at 7:20 this morning. Also knowing that they quite often close those lifts after heavy dumps is good information to share... although some are only inclined to hype to good side of things (as we all know).

We arrive on Feb 15 so hopefully some good snow on the way before then (upcoming weekend reports look good??) We will be based in Happo One but keen to try all resorts (although kids will be at ski school at Happo). If we get the All Mountain Pass can you use it across 2 resorts in the one day (i.e ski with kids in morning and then head over to a diff resort when they are in ski school). Or is it better to just buy passes day by day?
