Of course, they only form a part of the story...

I don't know about Hakuba, but my eyes clearly tell me that there's less than usual here whatever the numbers say.

Horrendous day on the hill today.....wind is mental and there is a shitload of wind loaded slopes....one of my mellow like in bounds faves slid out as I turned into it.....it was only a small slide but enough to make me shit bricks (it's a short gully w/no slopes below it). Don't think I'll stay up here too long and i'm certainly not going into the bowls

why not put your truck on the Naoetsu -> Otaru Ferry, in Hokkaido next day.

But don't stop at Hakodate. Drive straight through!!!

I've spent most of this season watching the clouds go around the local park.

I should have bought new skates this season :(

Hello Its Bill Murray.

I liked you in Groundhog Day and a bit in Lost in Translation.

But I thought that Broken Flowers was a bit rubbish.

Perhaps a bit more variation in performances is called for?

You'll love me in my new upcoming role in 'The Monuments Men' & my brief appearance in 'The Grand Budapest Hotel'.

Excellent, I will look forward to that.

By the way, what did you whisper to Scarlett at the end of Lost in Translation? I reckon you might have been asking her if she knew where to find a good pie in Tokyo, but I'm prepared to hear it was something different.

Less than usual actually. December we had a lot more than usual, both in Kobuchisawa and Kiyosato, but then January kind of dried up. During January Kiyosato had 3 or 4 biggish dumps something like 50cm 40cm 30cm and I think another 30cm -40cm and then a few dusting in between. Thursday It snowed between 10 and 30cm or so at the resort, but was mostly rain here except for a half an hour of snow.

So less than last year's January for sure, and especially here in Kobuchisawa, where last year it snowed many times, this year we have had rain a few times in January(would normally be snow here) with light snow other times, just a few cm's here and there at most. I wasn't living in Kobuchisawa last year, so I don't know, but the locals tell me it snowed a lot last year.

I have also been told that it snows here in Kobuchisawa really heavy snow and a lot in March as it begins to warm up. So will be interesting to see if such a thing eventuates.
