If you click on the kotaku link, the woman had some other tasty things written on her costume. So it's deliberate, either by her or some English speaker having a laff. If its the latter, its a bit shit doing it on a little kids program and unimaginative to do it with explicit words when you could use double entendres etc. If its her, she must be a nutcase.

If that is true, she has no business teaching English to children.

If it is not true, well, same. Plus, she is a nutcase.

It's a dancing program, not an English one, so she has an excuse for not understanding. She's apologized now, so I guess most Japanese people will just go "eigo wakkanai yo na" and the whole thing will be forgotten. It's only really a scandal overseas. For entertainment purposes, it would be fun for her or whoever ordered the costume to get sacked and then out the gaij who stitched them up on social media, getting him sacked as well, but I think it will all just be forgotten.

Ah, ok, that does put a different complexion on it.

So the problem is that she fell afoul of the old "never adorn yourself in public with foreign language phrases that you don't understand" rule.

Still, the jerk who played such a prank on her deserves a good thwacking.
