pie-eater 207
I'm rushing off to the post office tomorrow to buy the 256 nengajo that I need this year. If I include all my Twaitter followers, I'll need to get 257! Jolly exciting though, them on sale, isn't it.
teikiatsulover 6
We started thinking about what pictures we'd like to use today. So many from this year that it's always so hard to whittle away at!
snowdude 44
I no doubt we will think about what pictures to choose for our Nengajo on or around the 31st Dec as usual and then print them out on the 1st or 2nd January as usual!.
iiyamadude 6
I used to make special ones then I began to think what the heck.... for the relatively few I sent, they get 'normal' ones. It's not as if many people really (REALLY) care.
frannyo 2
How many do people here actually send? I send about 10.

Tubby Beaver 209
0 from me........I have a bunch of Christmas cards written out from about 5 years ago that I threaten to send every year....never happens though
brit-gob 9
I sent 15 last year. Pretty harmless, to the Japanese people that are important to me.
muikabochi 208
I sent about 15, though the lady sends out nearly 200.
pie-eater 207
I have been carefully planning my message for this year. It has to be original and fun, with an element of surprise, whilst at the same time remain respectful and not over the top extreme. It has to reflect the issues of the year, and thoughts and wishes for the year ahead. There can be no fannying about with too many flowery or insincere words, it has to be heartfelt. 今年もよろしくお願いします I'm quite pleased with it.
snowdude 44
Lol! Pie, That is exactly the same message as I write on my all of 5 or so cards that I may be bothered to send. And is very similar indeed to what my wife writes on her 150 or so cards which she always sends in the new year. Doesn't everyone write the same or very similar message? Or do some people here actually write an individual message or should I say (type).
Metabo Oyaji 71
You should trademark that, pie-eater. Make a killing.

7-11 2
What gets me is how some people send cards to people that they actually do not like. I know this because my friend does it. Politics.
Wizz 11
And sending them annually to people you haven't met for 30 years, and taking the chance to say.... kotoshi mo yoroshiku onegai shimasu. I don't get it.
SKI 15
I always feel hassled by it but send a minimum out to the older Japanese friends who care about these things, about 10.
HoTRoD 2
It's only like Christmas cards really isn't it, perhaps on a wider scale.
Chriselle 158
Usually around 200......BUT..don't be silly and think I have anything to do with it. That's the wifey's gig...
NoFakie 45
I started getting a load of work off one company I hadn't heard from for ages, so I don't think they are completely useless. I do find it a pain making them, but most of that was in getting to get my old printer to produce decent colours. People with kids or something else to show you (dog, Harley Davidson, photos they've taken etc.) usually make a bit of an effort, but the standard ones just with yoroshiku are bit pointless. There are much better raffle tickets people could send you.
DumbStick 13
My lady likes getting them, not as keen on writing them as there are a couple of hundred. It is a good way to keep in touch (with friends and 'enemies') though. And keen an eye on changing addresses!
snowdude 44
To me sending cards xmas or new year cards is just a hassle. People have my email address, that is the ones I don't mind being contacted by, friends well I see them anyway, why do I need to send them a card, business associates/contacts they get an email greeting from me. Family they get an email card, I may even buy and send them a card if I can find a decent xmas card, which without actually going to Tokyo is near on impossible in Japan to find anything worth sending. 69 5
Dealing with nengajo.... it's what Japanese partners/girlfriends/wives/other halfs are for.
Tubby Beaver 209
Most of the big card shops in most big cities I've been in carry Xmas cards. Tokyu Hands up here has a huge Xmas display
Alexander L 80
I like to send cards, but I don't have physical addresses of my friends. It'a all phone numbers and email addresses. And the email addresses are getting scarcer as evereybody is using whatsapp, Line, Wechat etc.
