Tubby Beaver 209
Watching the news and they don't half report some crud!! Sure the typhoon approaching is big news and some info to keep people safe is a good idea BUT getting an old man on to suggest that people use a raincoat instead of an umbrella??!! REALLY?! THAT'S what they are leading the news with?! Then he shows them how you can fold it up and put it in a bag while on the train..........
Chriselle 158
My wife has learned to stick her fingers in her ears and say La,la.la.la....when ever I start ranting about the news. So, ya....I'm right there with ya Tubby...

muikabochi 208
We just had the sirens going for a few minutes here. Yes, it is raining heavily. But no, from what I can see it's not going to be flooded any time soon. Perhaps if we continue like this for hours. They really like the precautionary drama don't they. Tubby Beaver 209
maybe they should broadcast it over the big screen in Shibuya and alongside those sirens that Muika is hearing The salarymen on the news look like they've woke up and been surprised at the weather

gnarly-dude 1
Any particular kind of coat, Tubby? Does it need to be a proper raincoat? Fabrics, etc?
iiyamadude 6
I'm going to wait until Tubby elaborates, or someone on the news tells me, before I venture out this morning. That's for sure!
muikabochi 208
That's probably a wise idea. All action outside. It all seems so.... un-necessary given current conditions as I can see them.
Chriselle 158
I got up at 3am to go take a look outside to make sure nothing was getting blown away as it was howling pretty good here by the water.....I turned on the news and immediately thought of you Tubby when the guy standing in front of the station (with helmet on of course) suggested using not one hand but two hands to hold your umbrella....just to be safe...
muikabochi 208
I always forgot to buy a helmet in times of non-panic. Must remember this time.
tokabochi 9
It's raining for sure but it's the wind that seems stronger here in Tokamachi for the moment.
Tubby Beaver 209
well according to the oyaji on the news, it must be the see through plastic variety that you can buy in 100 yen shops and are about as much use as a chocolate teapot
DumbStick 13
I wonder if you can actually buy chocolate teapots. I'd like one, if it were made from finest Belgian chocolate.

onehunga 26
Wish my kids had seen that TV news. At Disneyland on Tuesday it was pouring down. My wife and I had coats, but the kids decided umbrellas were better. Both umbrellas nearly got blown away, but they did keep reasonably dry, and of course umbrellas are useless on the outdoor rides.
