Go Native 70
Was in Maebashi today, bloody hell. The first summer I spent in Japan was in Isesaki (not far from Maebashi), For me and my wife it was unbearable. It's why we gave up teaching English within 2 months and escaped up to Hokkaido! zebedee 1
what's that other place in Gunma that often hits the news for heat?
Thundercat 60
Kochi has the new record it seems. My wife and I just spent a week camping in this heat on Kozushima. It basically stayed above 30C the entire time we were there and she still wanted to go to the onsen each night! On the plus side, my skin is silky smooth from all the sweating I did! Chriselle 158
Haha...BM..my wife has a hot bath in the onsen every night...totally loopy isn't it!?
Slippery Jim 65
Tatebayashi in Gunma and Kumagaya in Saitama are notorious hotspots. I think Kofu gets higher temps but humidity is worse in Kanto.
griller 9
Yes, Tatebayashi seems to make the news a lot.

1 4
There's a "PR race" to be the hottest town 「暑さ日本一のまち」の座をめぐって、猛暑地がPR合戦を繰り広げている。
Go Native 70
And I notice the little town of Rausu on the eastern side of the Shiretoko peninsula had temps today of 15 to 19 degrees. Ah the joy of living beside the Oyashio Current!
snowdude 44
Yamanashi in general has been way hotter than usual, although the humidity has not been anymore than other years, more a burning heat. I think Kofu has been the hottest place most days over the past couple of weeks. Seems that Kochi actually officially has become the hottest place in Japan with a high of 41oC a few days ago. Despite the heat during the day, the humidity here is far less than other areas of Kanto, especially at night, still way more than I like though! Well summer is nearly over, not long now before we will all be talking about winter!
