big-will 7
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFR-ADakI-c The longest word in English has 189,819 letters and would take you three and a half hours to pronounce correctly. Seriously. It's the chemical name of Titin (or connectin), a giant protein "that functions as a molecular spring which is responsible for the passive elasticity of muscle." You can listen to a guy pronounce the whole damn word.
pie-eater 207
I'm sorry, pardon? Can you repeat that please?

JA2340 16
So ... does anyone actually USE the full name, or do they just call it connectin? If they don't use the full name, it's fairly useless, innit?

JA2340 16
I decided that, at 3hrs 33 minutes and 23 seconds, I was not going to waste my time! So glad I made that decision.
Alexander L 80
you missed a good bit at 2hrs 55.
JA2340 16
Damn!! Will have to go there - or not!! I actually question whether it is a word. It might well be the technically correct, and complete, chemical description of the compound, but a word must, surely, be usable in conversation and that one would kill any conversation! Anyway - whatever, I am unlikely to ever use it, and not gunna watch 3h33:23 of some bloke boring the world. Major question, of course is - What were you looking for, Big-Will, that you found that??
