Metabo Oyaji 71
Seems Makinoiri has declared it is taking the 2012-2013 season off: 2012-13シーズン 投稿日: 2012年9月8日 作成者: admin お客様にお知らせ 近隣施設様及び所有者様との諸事情により 今シーズンは牧の入スノーパークの営業を見送ります。

muikabochi 208
Hmmm, that's not good news for the whole Mt Kosha idea is it.
634-maru 4
Good news about Koide. It rocks!
muikabochi 208
Perhaps this season I should get there if it rocks so hard. It's only 20 minutes drive or so.
Metabo Oyaji 71
Hmmm, that's not good news for the whole Mt Kosha idea is it. I get the impression that Kijimadaira is not necessarily keen to continue with the Mt. Kosha thing this year. The X-Jam website says that "Mt. Kosha" tickets including Kijimadaira are "under negotiation." The wording on the Makinoiri web site suggests to me that those negotiations may not be going particularly well at this point... But all uninformed speculation, I hasten to emphasize.

muikabochi 208
Oh dear. And if they don't do it along with Makinoiri, that's pretty much half of the area. (Can you paste that message in MO, couldn't find?)
Metabo Oyaji 71
(Can you paste that message in MO, couldn't find?) It is on the application form for the X-Jam season pass, which covers X-Jam Takaifuji, Yomase Onsen and Yamabiko no Oka. They say the following: 本券をMt.KOSHA共通1日券に変更する場合は別途費用が掛かります。 (現在予定です) And later on the same form, they discuss the "Kita Shinshu Season Ticket," which covers X-Jam, Yomase, Madarao and Kurohime, for which one of the features is: Mt.KOSHA 共通1日券が+500円で購入できます(現在木島平スキー場と交渉中) Hmm, perhaps I conflated the two in my mind, and things are not quite as delicate as I gotten an impression about; an "X-Jam Area" season ticket holder is "currently planned" to be able to buy a "Mt. Kosha" ticket including Kijimadaira for an as-yet undetermined extra fee (but, why say "currently planned" if there were not some chance it does not happen?), while the "under negotiation" part is for a "Kita Shinshu" season ticket holder to buy a "Mt. Kosha" ticket. Still, maybe I'm reading too much, but Makinoiri's wording, sounds a bit... discouraged. (I am assuming 近隣施設 refers to Kijimadaira.) The whole package together makes me think that either Kijimadaira doesn't feel it got good value from the Mt. Kosha deal last year and is holding out for a higher fraction of receipts or something, or else that there may be some 人間関係 issue going on. But what do I know, I am a notoriously KY person! 1 4
I'll tell you what though all these different tickets are very confusing.
Metabo Oyaji 71
Well ok, hang on, the X-Jam regular "ticket price" page says: 今シーズンも!! Mt.KOSHA共通券は継続します。 [...] So I guess it is a go after all. (”今シーズンも” must refer to 2012-2013, since they only started it last season, right?) I agree the tickets are confusing... While not actually spelled out on the X-Jam day-ticket price page, presumably エリア券 means Yomase+X-Jam+Yamabiko, while Mt. Kosha共通券 means those three+Kijimadaira. However, the same エリア券 and 共通券 prices seem to vary depending on whether one buys them at Yomase, X-Jam or Yamabiko, according to each of their ticket-price pages... Well, I'm sure it will all be clear by December.
1 4
I'm sure it'll be clear if you read lots of small print and study up, but not that it'll actually be simple and clear!

tokabochi 9
A test you can take at lots of ski-jo at the ski school. I think there were 4 (5?) levels with Level 1 being the best. They were wildly popular and a bragging point in the ski boom era, I believe, though not sure about now.
