dwolf 0
Hi there Looking forward to my first time in Japan in January. Can't wait. Interested to hear where you have enjoyed the best snow in Japan? I'm not trying to open an argument about where the best snow is - honest - just where YOU have experienced your best snow? Cheers
MagSeven 40
My best day snow-wise here was at Asahidake in early February last year. It was just so incredibly deep, neck and shoulders covered alot of the time, and very very light. Unfortunately, at Asahidake the terrain isn't that steep, so the day involved alot of wading across flat areas! In the steeper areas though, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven! Slippery Jim 65
Most memorable was the final day of a 3-day storm in Nozawa, waist-deep powder as light as smoke on Callenger and off the sides of Gyu-kubi. Floundered a lot and didn't ski it very well but damn that was something.
Mike Pow 52
Deepest - Sapporo Kokusai, Hokkaido Consistently - Kiroro, Hokkaido
Hokkaidough 4
Not in Hokkaido, but in Tohoku - at Tazawako.
Go Native 70
Asahidake for probably the lightest, deep powder I've ever experienced.
Popular Post hellyer 216
Akakura kanko and Seki Onsen in Feb this year. We arrived at midnight on the second day of a 3 day front that dropped over 4 metres and caused chaos for the locals. Straight to Seki the next morning but had to grab a shovel & help the lifties clear the way before we got into the best quality goods we have ever had. I have never ski'd it this deep before. Our En Zed cousins were there also - check it out http://vimeo.com/40261940
veronica 2
I think probably at Hakuba a few years back for me. Up at Happo.

sanjo 2
The best I have experienced would probably be at Kagura. It was magnificent.
Metabo Oyaji 71
Grandeco for me. No surprise, perhaps, given how many more times I have been there than to any other place. Second best place was probably Adatara Kogen, one day in the season before last.
gerard 6
Niseko for sheer dryness and Whistler one time after the alpine had been closed for a week and heaps of snow down to the village. And probably Nozawa too.
HelperElfMissy 42
SO MANY!! Niseko. *First Tracks down Miharashi, second run down was nothing like the first. *Early tracks under the Grand Hirafu Gondola. Cortina. *hallelujah! Iwatake. *a basic little run, on repeat in consistent snow, all day. A full day of smiles and fresh powder. Rusutsu. *the first time I ventured off the groomers and learned to ride powder. Had a brilliant day.
