Interesting Bridge - it is the Sacred Bridge 'Shinkyo' originally built in the year 808, was detroyed by floodwaters and rebuilt in it's present shape in 1636. It has been featured on many woodblock prints through the ages and in 1999 was included on UNESCO's World Heritage List.

Certainly looks like it.

 

I was disappointed with that bridge when I first saw it. Had this idea in my head that it was in a lovely peaceful place, not by a busy main road!

 

Felt the same when I first saw that. It kind of spoils it.
