Norikura's probably better known for spring back country skiing further up the mountain but it's a fun place on a powder day and the nearby onsen are excellent. Have you been there, Stick? The place you picked was in the area (Myoko - Madarao- Nozawa) that I have spent the most time at over the past few years.When the bigger resorts get slammed on weekends we usually check out some of the nearby smaller skijo.
