whee!

okay, but im a techno kiddie too so this thread might er, end up a little um... but let me get it out of the way so i dont keep blatting out the techno and pissing everyone off.

First time i heard this (i bought the dimensional holofonic sound EP for house of god) i almost consigned it to the "never be played again!" bin.

Second time it blew me away. I promise you, it sounds freaking amazing on vinyl. The acid line is so god damned warm.

(guess its too many tracks to hotlink them all :))

and this (though i wish it was better quality since the bass is HEAVY AS **** on vinyl):

and this (i had to go with the mix version because the vinyl version on youtube is terrible quality. This ones a bit quick and misses the whole rawness of that intro since its fading in, but its still one of the weirdest kick ass tracks out there - it will also give you a seat to yourself on the bus if youre banging it on your headphones - along with aphex twins classics, its almost designed for walkman (now ipod) terrorism):

and i guess this, since the surgeon tune always leads me toi remember it:

and one prima example of acid techno that was all the rage way back when... okay two.

and more classic boscaland acid techno (i do wish people wouldnt upload it at plus ****ing 8 though, this track is a freaking awesome one to pitch up through the length of it).

Off to a flying start! I think Ippy's already trumped me on the didn't sell 500 copies front though!

I'm a big techno fan but I don't like it quite as brutal as you Ippy

For hard loops, I like Mills and Robert Hood, but aside from them only really the odd one like this.

or this with its crazy drops

For hard acid, I used to like builders like this. Richie's best stuff usually has some progression in the track too.

As for what I really like, mainly under 135bpm Detriot, Basic Channel, Slam, deep stuff from Europe, golden era Relief,.... Quite a lot of house too, but another time for that.

Some snappy funky Carl Craig

god i liked that a LOT. :highfive:

ETA: where did everyone suddenly come from! i meant the talk talk track, now i need to catch up on all the other stuff. And Mr wiggles, definitely not full on brutal, im a trance kid (by trance i mean repetitive beats not the ibiza bullshit :p), ill post up some more stuff later of what i think is beautiful techno - warp era stuff - b12, seefeel, autechre, lfo etc), i just wanted those dudes out of the system

Not quite the same, but i thought of these while listening to the start of the talk talk track:

Haha! just listened to those three tracks. I cant believe you called me brutal! all of those are kick ass! Love the line on the bandulu track, reminds me a lot of oli ho stuiff. Definitely adding that to the list! The advent are awesome, but tresor stuff (which i associate them with) never really floated my boat all that much. Ironically, its a bit too hard banging for me :)

Anyway, to throw out another genre:

ETA: should you ever find yourself suitably half cut, then fixed is the best album in the world to listen to. It used to blow my head off.

and just because i used to go to the mayfair every weekend in newcastle and from ****ing nowhere a hundred goths would go ballistic.

Heres the song that i ALWAYS ALWAYS try to fit my riding clips too. But the riding clips suck and involve me splatting every thirty or so seconds so it loses a bit of its flow. I almost once found the perfect clip, but i gave that laptop away to a mate when she got hers stolen the week before i left korea (the fan was dead on it anyway, so it wasnt me just being awesome generous).

It just sings snowboarding in deep pow with face shots and rollers all in extra special trippy slow mo.

Love autechre.
