The new google-less Maps stuff looks pretty cool too.

I sort of take that back, looks like details wise they have a long way to catch up.

As expected I suppose.

Yeah that´s right. Not everyone can buy a new mac every 2 years. I did´t expect to do a OS major update twice in 5 years, and they apparently didn´t work well for some people who did it. I stuck to

Get the notebook and connect it up to a Thunderbolt display. Best of both worlds!

* If not slightly expensive.

I connect mine to my 42inch flat scfeen tv, using HDMI connection.

Mine is not a mac though!

Its a new windows lappy with the i7 processor.

Now you will have USB3, unless you got tons of cash you want to use I would go USB3. Much cheaper. No, not quite as fast, but much faster than what you are used to with USB2.

Yes USB3 is 10x faster than USB2.

I have an external hdd plug into it super fast access.

By the way dont plug USB2 equipment into USB3 unless you dont mind buggering it up as they are not compatible.

USB3 equipment on the other hand are mostly backwards compatible so can be used with either.

I have an Air and the beautiful Thunderbolt display which recharges my Air.

Also have a keyboard and magic keypad thing so when I close the Air the thunderbolt "becomes" like an imac with the menus etc on the display.

Great set up.

Though I must say, Mos do seem to be getting conspicuously smaller.

And the Big Mac should be called Small Mac.

don't like Mos........they seem to have really crappy burgers....taste like Asda Smart Price Burgers

I'm keen on trying out a Mac, but would prefer a desktop type thing - the imac.

Any word on when they will actually be upgrading that to more current specs?

It's not a mac but I just built a new pc. It's lightening fast. It cold boots into windows in about ten seconds. Its got a higher spec than the current Mac pro server but cost 95,000 yen, not 258,000.

If you like photos get a USB 3.0 card reader. You can click through your photos on the card faster than on a notebook hard drive.

merryJim the 'consumer' (?) desktop is the imac yes.

Renewal? Haha, lots of people waiting but not a dickiebird.

Maybe next month, maybe summer, maybe autumn etc.

I got tired of playing that game and waiting for a Macbook Pro like gg did.

Looking forward to hearing more on that gg.
