chikumango 0
I came across this link for avalanche safety gear. It is an airbag that inflates like wings with a simple tug of a pulley. It looks pretty epic. Anybody here tried this out? Here is the link: http://abs-airbag.de/en/abs-system/
Jynxx 4
The whole point of it all is ... You wear it and avoid being hit by an avalanche, not trying it out ! haha

i2s the one 0
It's actually pretty standard for people traveling high risk areas. All mountain-workers carry them obligatory in the alps. I'd say it's a must for backcountry lovers.
CnnmnSchnpps 0
Many styles are available from several manufacturers, but afaik only one is sold in Japan - BCA. I have the float 36 In my mind, it's relatively cheap insurance considering how effective they are. Although keep in mind that terrain in Japan is different from, say, the Alps and you probably have a much greater chance of hitting trees etc on the way down - the airbag won't help much - if at all - there. Cheers -D Edited February 21, 2012 by SJ-Pete I have sent you an email CnnmnSchnpps
