Kellyg 0
Arrive next week in Niseko from Aus with family after having to cancel last March. Better late than never i guess. Have heard stories of people getting caught out in the past trying to get CC cash advances from ATM's in Japan. Has the situation changed or are there any precautions that should be taken. Have prepaid for most things except ski hire and lessons.

Go Native 70
There's an ATM in Hirafu that accepts international cards. It wasn't always there and you used to have to go down to Kutchan to get money out.
gozaimaas 61
Its probably best to speak with your bank if you have the patience. i find its easier to walk into a branch then wait on the phone for 2 hours. I know I had no trouble with my nab gold debit card but that is not a cash advance on a credit card. But don't listen to some guy on the internet lol, go find out for sure
seemore 66
I haven't used the atm. Just take a wad of folding and leave it in your safe. Seemore
Tubby Beaver 209
dunno if there is a post office in niseko itself, but PO ATM's accept international cards, credit and debit
foreversnow 5
Just take a wad of cash with you. I THINK Seciomart put in an ATM last year??? But seriously just take the cash with you.
surfarthur 22
I had no problems with my mastercard at 7-11 ATM's last year, can't comment on Niseko specifically, but definitely take cash with you.
Tubby Beaver 209
7-11's are also fine, but I dunno if Niseko has a 7-
Go Native 70
There's no 7-11 in Hirafu (I wish people would stop referring to it as Niseko!). In the Yama Shizen east building in the upper village there is an ATM that is exactly the same as the ones in 7-11's. There's no post office in Hirafu. Seicomart has always had an ATM but it only works with domestic cards.
Tubby Beaver 209
yeah thats what I thought....no 7-11's or Post Offices in Niseko
