we are aware of that, but since you CAN buy a jar of sauce that says "Tikka Masala" on the outside and you CAN buy a curry from the take away thats called "Tikka Masala" that means that there is such a thing as Tikka Masala

Its not "generic" curry sauce, its Tikka masala sauce....whether or not that sauce exists in India is another matter, but the fact you can buy a jar that says "Tikka Masala" on the side, means that it exists

In my experience, every place seems to do chicken tikka masala differently. It seems to be more of a lucky dip than say a bhuna or a rogan josh.

Remember, don't fill yourself up on them.

 

Of course, you WILL. And you will also tell yourself not to pig out on them next time. But you will next time too.

When I go to an Indian restaurant, I always order the chicken tikka, sheekh kebab, lamb vindaloo and pilaf rice. Plus lots of beer.

 

Can't finish it all though, but the staff must eat sometime.
