myra 0
Hi New here and still quite new to Japan. And new to skiing too. I went out for the first time this season with some friends and I went to the Tsugaike Kogen resort in Nagano and the Iwappara in Niigata. I found both of them to be perfect for beginners, and notice that this has been said on these forums before as well. Really just right for someone like me. Also went to Naeba which was fine but not quite as good a fit. Hoping to take it up another level next time.
muikabochi 208
Yes those two places really are a great fit for beginners. Glad you enjoyed it!
geeski 0
A few more I would add: Myoko Suginohara Ikenotaira Sugadaira
yamaski 0
I learnt at Sugadaira. It used to be more busy than it has been of late, like everywhere I suppose. A quiet, but fine place.
myra 0
Yes Ikenotaira is good too. Never been to Sugadaira but curious to see it.
pickled mushhead 0
I found Sugadaira to be pretty boring to be honest. I think it will appeal to some but not me. Not enough challenge.
pickled mushhead 0
Snow was great when I went though.
Stewey 0
I live near Matsumoto so Sugadaira isn't that far. Only managed to go once this first season in Japan. Liked it. Very quiet. Spread out. Different kind of feel to other places I went.
