diggerz 0
...and you could go at any time, when would you choose? ie. is there a 2 week window when you'd say consistently is the peak of the peak, in terms of snow conditions.
muikabochi 208
I'd say take your pick from the last three weeks of January.
Tubby Beaver 209
as above + 1st week of Feb....nice 4 week window
iiyamadude 6
Yes that always seems to be consistently the best time to be anywhere. February seems to be getting less reliable with warmer spells and rain. Less reliable than it used to be? Hmmm.

SKI 15
Well, the man is right and that is the most reliable time of the season over the last decade or so and probably more.
HelperElfMissy 42
yes I would go late January early Feb - avoid Chinese New Year, and if possible go late January so all the Aussie School Holiday crowds are on their way home.
Tubby Beaver 209
I didn't really think CNY was that busy.
mina2 6
I suspect it is much more so in Niseko than most other places.
HelperElfMissy 42
I would think so too mina2. I have not been at CNY, just what I have been told by others.
Go Native 70
CNY in Niseko has consistently been one of the busiest weeks of the whole season. Sometimes busier than xmas/NY. I don't expect it will be so busy next season though. We'll see.
sand 17
Chinese NY falls on Jan 23 next year quite early ( that's a Monday)
lin 0
I think it will be October or later before we know how this looks like panning out. People who are still interested in Japan, the ones I know anyway, are just holding back and waiting.
foreversnow 5
First 2 weeks of February!!

Slippery Jim 65
I'd ordinarily say last two weeks of January, but would definitely skip Chinese New Year.

The main difference between Niseko and other J resorts is that it really doesn't drop off much mid week. It probably doesn't ever get as busy though as some of the more popular resorts down south can on weekends.
muikabochi 208
Yes weekdays at some places around here and you can count the people on your hands.
tokabochi 9
Worryingly so!
Cheryl 0
I was going to ask the same thing as I am hoping to get to Japan next January or February.
best skier in hakuba 5
Interesting about February, recently a few strange Febs. But you can usually count on January after New Year.
robot girl 0
I always think the 2nd week of January is good, just after New Year. Then, the crowds for new year have moved on and it is usually quieter as well as great snow.
