Thundercat 60
The leading story In Nagano in the past few days has been the farmers getting close to 100% compo for the cost of dismantling their poly tunnels that were crushed by the big snow the week before last. It sounds like some hotels are after it too for cancellations. Which is fine, until you consider that some people lost their home, their fields, their fishing grounds, and their entire community due to radiation and two years later have received next to nothing. No insurance to cover this? Hotels getting compensation for cancellations is a bit ridiculous in my opinion.
DumbStick 13
Aren't Nagano farmers used to some snow? Not as if it's Kyushu.
NoFakie 45
Dunno, I guess all of them will be well south of here. That would also put them closer to typhoons though, so perhaps those polytunnels should have been insured for weather events anyway.
grungy-gonads 54
Compensation so often seems like a lucky (or not) draw. Yeah it has been a while since I have felt a quake actually. Would be good if it stays that way.
Alexander L 80
Saw a segment about this guy called Endo who lost his wife, three children, home, business to the Tsunami. And he managed to go on and is now producing furniture for the newly rebuilt schools. Humbling. What a guy.
