Alexander L 80
OK, time to change my TV I've decided on iDTV LED with 3D that is thrown in, narrowed down to 2 models. Any opinions on: Sharp LX840 52" Panasonic WT50 55"

oo 1
do they still make plasma?
Alexander L 80
yes indeed. The larger > 70 - 150 inch displays are plasma, because they are brighter and so much easier to view in bright environments. My first large TV (42") was a plasma. The screen surface was pretty warm. brit-gob 9
I want one* of those new Bravia 65" Ultra HD sets when they come out in June. Only about 750000 yen by the looks! * Maybe two If you have something like that, do you need extra speakers to take advantage of 7.1 sound etc? (I presume you do)
pie-eater 207
Good question.
Alexander L 80
They can do virtual 7.1 now. But Sony would have a line of 7.1 home theatre systems for this baby.
pie-eater 207
But would you need them? Would you need to 'turn off' the native sound.....or what?
Chriselle 158
That's downright sexy. Weird how my 47" LED Aquos seems piddly these days..
big-will 7
Something that huge would just look extremely silly in my house. If indeed I could fit it in!
scouser 4
There'd a photo of that attached to a wall on their website. Would you need some special re-inforcements to do that?!
oblivion 5
From what I see, Sony don't do 7.1 systems. http://www.sony.jp/home-theater/lineup/index.html That confuses me. They seem to be selling this new big tv as speakers being a bit part.
oblivion 5
If you look here http://panasonic.jp/viera/products/ft60/spec.html http://www.toshiba.co.jp/regza/lineup/z7/quality.htm ....neither do Panasonic or Toshiba. What's with that then?
Alexander L 80
Virtual systems in-built to their TVs. Bose do the same. I have a 5.1 Bose system that I now don't use.
