Go Native 70
I recently bought a 2nd hand Canon EOS 30D off my brother-inlaw and am getting spots on the photos which I believe are from a dirty sensor. Has anyone here cleaned a sensor themselves? Got any tips? Or would you advise I get it done professionaly?

spook 0
I would get it done professionally. Mostly because I don't want to destroy something delicate inside the camera.

muikabochi 208
I'd get someone else to do it as well if the simple blowing doesn't work.
Thundercat 60
The first thing you want to do is to check and see if there is an option for self-cleaning. My Pentax has this option in one of the tools menus and using it has gotten rid of the spots a few times. If that fails then take it to a professional. When I took my camera in last year I had it back in a week and it only cost 1500Â¥.
miller 1
If you can't get it off, I'd take it in to the local shop and see what they say.
mitchpee 10
GN, I asked my roommate because he has a 7d and he said just turn on the sensor cleaning option then use a q-tip or something of the sort to give it a quick brush.
muikabochi 208
Be careful with what you fiddle about with in there though. Wouldn't want to do something to the sensor.
