Metabo Oyaji 71 Posted June 2, 2011 Share Posted June 2, 2011 Now they are thinking of making the highways free from Shirakawa to the north on the Tohoku, and from Mito to the north on the Joban, plus all of the Ban-Etsu and the Nihonkai Engan Tohoku, to encourage tourism to Tohoku. If you're in a rush, some of them will collect your car at the airport itself, though that's normally a couple of thousand extra. Usually you just drive to the car park itself and there's an on-demand shuttle from there on, maybe only ten minutes. A google search in Japanese should find loads. One company is called "USA Parking". Some of the hotels on the approach to Narita give you two weeks free parking if you stay one night. The Tokyu and the Nikko definitely do. The Tokyu can be booked for about 9000 a night for a twin off peak. Many flights to Europe are first thing in the morning, which is a pain if you've got a long drive there. It was nice rolling off the end of the Ken O Expressway, and watching the sign light up Y 1,000. Kaching. The parking is called Narita Airport Parking. Not to be confused with parking at Narita. It is the oldest of the private parking companies (the man said) and the closest to Narita. Also, parking is on-site, not at some satellite, so they don't move your car. Y2,500 for ten days via internet, including tax. Hot and humid in Bangkok, looking forward to the sea breezes of Koh Samui. Link to post Share on other sites
