muikabochi 208
I found this sign (that says "Clock" in Japanese) very useful. I found the arrow especially helpful in finding the clock. Taken at Zao today
Go Native 70
The little diagram of a clock above the arrow also ensures that there is absolutely no possibility whatsoever of misunderstanding what that thing to the right of the sign actually is. Awesome!
grungy-gonads 54
Hold on hold on. That sign may well cause some real confusion. On the left hand side, it seems that the clock is showing the time 'just before 10 o'clock'. But on the clock to the right, it is quite clearly 12:10. I think something needs to be done about that, and quite urgently too!
Go Native 70
That does raise the potential for some serious confusion! How is a simple Japanese person expected to understand such conflicting messages?!
grungy-gonads 54
It's not very helpful for people who can't read kanji either. Great find muika.
BagOfCrisps 24
So much for Zao and it's signs-in-4-languages thing. They really ought to have the translation there and clear up the confusion.
SKI 15
haha love it.
iiyamadude 6
Got to wonder what the thinking is when they put that up there.

Thundercat 60
My guess is that people were constantly asking the staff what time it was while standing directly under the clock... seems stupid but then again people are stupid...
grungy-gonads 54
I think they might need another sign to point to the sign so that people can find the sign and ultimately, the clock.
sanjo 2
Classic. Hope you had fun muikabochi looks like you timed it just right. Looking forward to heaing how it went.

pie-eater 207
They should get some scissors and cut out that top picture of a clock. Then, find a watch that is exactly the same size as the hole. Making sue that the time on the watch is the same time as the clock, put the watch up there in that space. That would surely eliminate any confusion.

JA2340 16
Then they'd need a sign to tell people that it was a watch!
pie-eater 207
Here is my proposal. Though I think there should be more languages on there perhaps.
pickled mushhead 0
How about a 2nd watch so that it's a double check?
r45 4
good find muikabochi. That sure is a curious one.
Tubby Beaver 209
but isn't "tokei" used for a watch AND a clock in Japanese? That is probably the best sign I have ever seen!!!
big-will 7
I think so. A watch specifically is ude-tokei
muikabochi 208
Ah yes the old 'rn' being mistaken for 'm'. Happens a fair bit that one. That is a good fine pete, haha.
