King Of Nails IV 0
I was wondering how coverage was at resorts here? I will be in Yuzawa area next week and with family and so just hope I might be able to use the phone to keep in touch etc. Can you use phones on the mountains or not? Thanks
Metabo Oyaji 71
Depends on which phone company you use. I don't get very good coverage with J-Phone Vodafone Softbank. When it does work at a ski area, it is often only in one or two particular locations on the mountain. Probably have better luck with Docomo, I'd imagine.
BeerTengoku 35
Yuzawa for me is fine - I think.
BeerTengoku 35
But am on AU.
snowdude 44
Au will be no problem in Yuzawa, my AU works there and most places! Sometimes the very high resorts you may get no reception.
flip360 0
Docomo seems to have the best coverage but I think you'll find it pretty good at most places that aren't deep inaka.
Chriselle 158
Softbank= Anyone hear me cursing and swearing at Happo-one yesterday?? Softbank...grrr
dyna8800 3
You get what you pay for... Docomo traditionally has the best coverage for marine areas, plus the ski resorts. You can check which carriers have coverage at each resort in the listings of the major guidebooks (Ski Mapple, etc.)

nippontiger 8
Yeah, Softbank wont work at Happo. Works all over Kagura though, surprisingly. Softbank have been absolutely terrible for me - completely robbed me on my last phone (Samsung Omnia - the worst phone I ever owned), reception is patchy and occasionally will just drop out to nothing for no reason and then come back to full a couple of minutes later, even though I havent moved. Unfortunately Im stuck with them for another 18 months cos I wanted an Iphone!
stemik 14
softbank works on the right side of Happo and the lower regions....
XilR8 0
Can confirm that Softbank works at Kagura and Naeba, so if you are in Yuzawa area you should be ok.

snowdude 44
Softbank has the worst coverage, my wife has one and often it has no reception when my AU has!
resortguy 0
My phone is always set to OFF and in the locker when I am on the mountain! Docomo does have the best all round coverage.
