Go Native 70
It was cloudy for most of the day but it did lift a little in the evening. No snow could be seen on Annupuri. The mountains to the east of Kutchan though, out past Kyogoku, looked to have a reasonable amount of snow on them down to quite low levels. As much of the weather came from the east I think that range put our area into a bit of a rain shadow. Youtei is still cloudy but is sure to have some snow up top.
foreversnow 5
Youtei teased us all day. I checked every web cam known regularly and the cloud was gradually lifting but by nightfall there still was a curtain of cloud hiding the top!!
Tubby Beaver 209
saw on the news last night a huge pile of snow blanketing parts of Hokkaido!! i was very surprised to see a good covering on the road as well, didn't catch exactly where it was though
cram400 0
that cloud layer on top of Yotei really isn't going away is it.. when are going to show your snow capped summit, Yotei?
Go Native 70
This was posted this morning Should be getting more snow this evening. Plenty of thunderstorms coming through with hail down in Kutchan.
cram400 0
nice one, GN.. thanks for that. nice contrast of colors!

Sciclone 2
Not that anyone cares, but Yokoteyama in Nagano (Shiga Kogen) got its first dusting of snow this morning.. unfortunately its raining now, so its melted away..

Go Native 70
Was a fair bit more snow today on Youtei and even some on Annupuri but it's been cloudy most of the day so no new pics yet. And I like hearing about snow anywhere as well! Canada has just received some unusually early heavy snowfalls on the Rockies and out onto the Alberta plains as well.
cram400 0
snow in the rockies came up so here is a link to grand targhee in wyoming.. pics are a bit outdated but the above mentioned snow event in north america occurred on top of what's shown here.. they're definitely getting an early start to the season around the rockies.. http://www.grandtarghee.com/the-mountain/culture/pic-of-the-day.php
skidaisuki 0
I see the temps in central Hokkaido are now dropping quite a bit - low single figures overnight in Asahikawa & Furano, according to my main weather reference site. Let's hope that this trend continues towards an early start for the season. SdS
Slippery Jim 65
Since I just bought a pair of serious powder skis that I'll be picking up in NY next week and bringing back here, I hope all this confidence about an early and deep season is justified.
Go Native 70
Not sure if anyone has expressed any confidence at all about an early or deep season! We've just had a couple of early snowfalls is all.
